About Alcon Building Group

Alcon Building Group established in 2015 and quickly developed a reputation for delivering high-quality projects that meet the needs of his client. With over 30 years in the building industry, our directors have a wealth of experience and knowledge in delivering Commercial and Domestic construction projects.

In 2018, Alcon Building Group expanded its management capacity leveraging off a management team experienced in Commercial Property Management. By working closely with some of Australia’s major shopping centre landlords, Alcon Building Group were able to expand by offering Retail and Hospitality fitouts and project management. The team at Alcon Building Group were able to secure tenders for many local businesses and have completed several Telstra store fit-outs over the past 3 years.

Alcon Building Group are well equipped with a constantly growing team, with team members specialising in low rise commercial development and complex projects with dedicated project estimators and project managers.

With a well-rounded team we are confident to complete all building construction works, whether it be residential renovations and new homes, to low rise commercial developments and interior fitouts.

Our Management Team

Ian O'Connor

Director | Founder | Construction Manager

Ian O’Connor established Alcon Building Group in 2015 and quickly developed a reputation for delivering high quality projects that meet the needs of his client. With over 30 years in the building industry Ian has wealth of experience and knowledge in delivering Commercial and Domestic construction projects. Ian holds both a Domestic (Unlimited) and Commercial Low-Rise construction licenses.

Matthew Preston

Director | Business Development Manager 

Matt Preston joined Alcon Building Group in early 2018 as a Director. Matt is an experienced and diligent management professional with a background in commercial property management, working with some of Australia’s major shopping centre landlords specialising in major capital works project management, facility management, retail and hospitality fit-outs co-ordination. Matt is a passionate people person and is committed to building strong and ongoing relationships with clients and stakeholders. 

Steve Farley

Project Manager 

Steve Farley joined the team in early 2019. Steve is an astute and diligent construction professional. Steve has over 25 years in construction both in Australia and the UK. Steve is a qualified tradesman and experienced project manager. Steve heads up our low rise commercial division delivering large complex projects.

Hasan Mohammed

Senior Estimator

Hasan holds a degree in Civil engineering and has extensive experience in Estimation & costing for more than 22 years in the construction industry both in Australia and the Middle East region. Hasan has the exposure in working wide through Domestic construction to Major infrastructure projects. He has the ability to work in pre contract as well as in post contract stages. His numerical skills play a vital role for all the stakeholders involved in the work process. Hasan is well equipped with current software skills which will play a key role in efficient working manners.
